In 2013 Sandor Scheers left the Netherlands and moved to Luang Namtha, Laos. He had worked previously with the Dutch Government but it was time for something different. After witnessing the unsustainable agricultural monocropping plantations and lack of economic diversity in the rural villages. Sandor has to act.
Upon learning of the successful Thai coffee production and after subsequent visits, he learned that this high value crop could be replicated in northern Laos.
With the start of Uplao's work in Laos, training of farmers, development of ecotourism, purchasing of coffee seedlings and preparing fields, Uplao looks to you for support.
Together we can create a sustainable diverse and prosperous future.
